Bumrah and Prasidh made their competitive debuts for India in the T20I series against Ireland, while Rahul and Iyer are still working their way back to full fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Their backups, Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson, did not take advantage of their opportunities in the format. It is unclear whether India would choose a 15-player roster or want to rotate its players with an enlarged group given the few matches left before the World Cup.
