One of the most notable events of the year ended up being the release of the Dono trailer. Rajveer Deol, the son of Sunny Deol, and Paloma, the daughter of Poonam Dhillon and Ashok Thakeria, are introduced in the love story, which premieres on October 5. Not only that. Avnish S Barjatya, the son of Sooraj Barjatya, is also making his directorial debut. Sunny Deol, Poonam Dhillon, Ashok Thakeria, Sooraj Barjatya, Kamal Kumar Barjatya, and Ajit Kumar Barjatya all attended the event in addition to the cast and crew as a result.

Fresh off the success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol gave a heartfelt speech at the occasion. You are all aware of Rajshri Productions, he remarked. Like Disney, they produce family-friendly movies. Since then, they have continued to act in this manner. It’s not Kabhi Behke. This movie follows similar trends. ‘Inn logon ne phir se shaadi ke upar film banayi’ is a possible phrase. In their movies, blended families are brought together through marriage. Dono also discusses relationships, families, and feelings. But because it’s a modern movie, it makes a difference. It is a movie about the youth of today. I have seen the movie, therefore I can attest to it.

Then Sunny Deol compared it to the debut film of actor Abhay Deol and director Imtiaz Ali, Socha Na Tha (2005), which featured Ayesha Takia. I made a movie many years ago called Socha Na Tha, he said. It seems like a lot of you enjoyed it. I recall that I was so pleased with that film that I presented it to every journalist.

Nothing less than that, and possibly even more than Socha Na Tha, is Dono. Our director did an excellent job. He has demonstrated the marriages of the current generation. They now support joint families and favour arranged marriages and live-in parents. The way he put all the characters together and depicted their experiences and ideologies is commendable.”

On October 5, Dono will be shown in theatres.

Dono’s trailer debut took place today in Mumbai, and it was particularly noteworthy because Sunny Deol, Poonam Dhillon, Ashok Thakeria, Sooraj Barjatya, Kamal Kumar Barjatya, and Ajit Kumar Barjatya all attended. In a rare occurrence, Sooraj Barjatya generated laughter when he explained how the movie was conceived. I always believed Avnish would pursue a career as a chartered accountant, the man yelled. He informed me of his desire to become a director one day. I kept quiet, but after a moment I said simply two things that my father had taught me: if you want to be a director, you should feel the need to speak up. Director bano tab hi. I’m overjoyed that he had a voice and said anything in this movie.

Then he stated, “When Avnish narrated the concept, I told him you are free to make whatever you want, but I told him to remember that tumhari film dekhne Rajshri ki audience bhi aayegi.”

Sooraj Barjatya continued, “Then Sunny ji called me ki ‘Suna hai ki aap bete ki picture bana rahe ho’,” revealing that Sunny Deol had requested him to promote Rajveer with Dono. I’m not sure if Rajveer is aware of this incident. Lekin iss film mein action nahin hai, I told Sunny as soon as Main Ghabra Gaya was over. ‘It’s ok,’ he assured me. My son will adore the topic, and it should come from the heart.

“Then Poonam ji spoke to my sister, Anuradha,” he continued. Paloma was pictured with a gun in the very first photos we saw of her! However, Avnish and I both realized that she would work well in the Meghna role.
